A very disappointing experience. I arrived today with my family. I have celiac disease. I ordered 2 gluten free pizzas. The pre made flat base had the texture of wet dough. The ingredients were poor quality (blackened olives). We took a few bites, & left most if it on the plates. The nice server noticed, & asked if everything was ok, I gently explained that the pizzas were not good (& that was an under statement). In 2026 there are great Gluten Free pizzas. To serve these poor quality “pizzas” to people it’s insulting. We paid over 20 pounds, left a nice tip, & are never planning on coming back.

The servers were friendly and provided great options for all our dietary needs, including gluten free and vegetarian options. The food was excellent quality, freshly made and ready in less than ten minutes. The waiter made an effort to connect with our family, and took great care of us. He was so funny! The location was accessible and wasn’t at all crowded.

Posto meraviglioso proprio a Leadenhall. La migliore pizza senza glutine e vegana che abbia mai mangiato. Il nostro cameriere era davvero molto gentile e divertente, anche (Ivan).

Tutto, dal momento in cui siamo entrati a quello in cui siamo usciti, è stato meraviglioso! Ho un'allergia al glutine e il personale era molto attento a garantire che avessi ciò di cui avevo bisogno❤️

Il cibo era davvero delizioso come sempre. Di solito abbiamo anche pizza senza glutine, che è altamente consigliata. Il servizio era gentile e cordiale.

Così confortante avere qualcosa di affidabile senza glutine. I loro prodotti senza glutine vengono serviti su una lavagna nera o su un tovagliolo nero così da sapere che è la versione senza glutine. Vengono offerti palline di impasto e molti tipi di pizze senza glutine.

Hello, I have also sent this email to head office, but myself and 4 other friends visited Pizza Express at Leadenhall yesterday (20th December) and were shocked and appalled at the service and attitude of the staff. We were seated downstairs with little to no issue, as the restaurant was not even overly busy, but things went downhill from here… We were greeted by what can only be described as a ‘moody’ and ‘rude’ waitress. We eventually had our order taken after we waited for some time. We ordered normal plain dough balls and pesto loaded gluten free dough balls, and 5 pizzas as expected for 5 people, plus one dip. We also ordered 2 beers and 1 margarita cocktail. Plus water for the table. We waited a while for our drinks to arrive, and even then we received our starters before our drinks, and even no water was served to the table until we asked. We then find out, not only, there were no gluten free dough balls, but unsurprisingly, the waitress was unapologetic and offered no alternative or explanation. To make matters worse we were also then served 2 lots of dough balls (both non gluten free) plain and pesto, so what I would assume be the alternative to serving the pesto gluten free balls…. Not exactly a valid or considered swap for one person at the table that cannot consume them. For a restaurant that has a collaboration with ‘Coeliac’ it is disgraceful that this was served to the table. We did raise this with the waitress but once again, there was little to no explanation or apology. We were then served the drinks (and the water!) only when we received our pizzas (and no surprise there was no dip!), whilst the dough balls were still being eaten. All in all a bit of a joke. We were then shocked, even further, as a 6th pizza was delivered to the table…. We soon realised that the margarita cocktail order had been delivered as a margarita pizza. Someone then ordered a Diet Coke instead, and no surprise they even got that wrong… just a regular coke was served. It is absolutely laughable and beyond belief that staff and an establishment so reputable as Pizza Express can be so appalling at customer service. By far the worst experience I’ve had at a restaurant in the City of London. I would love to hear what the head office/ restaurant have to say about our shocking visit, for what can only be described as something out of Fawtly towers. Not only were the staff rude and unapologetic, they were clearly not trained at all and completely unaware of customer service or restaurant etiquette, as everything that possibly could go wrong did go wrong. I will not be returning to this restaurant, or any for that matter. .

Situato nell'incantevole cornice di Leadenhall Market nel cuore della City di Londra, questo ristorante offre, tra le altre cose, una vasta scelta di pizze senza glutine. Ideale per coloro la cui intolleranza al glutine è un problema quotidiano. Ottima accoglienza da parte del personale, attento al cliente (sono un turista francese che non padroneggia la lingua di Shakespeare). Grazie per questo dolce momento da Pizza Express.
