My happy place on earth!!!! Everything is delicious! Hand made! The owner is always there and her love for her shop shows through the quality of her food! Every time I’m in Madrid, La oriental is a mandatory stop.

Heavenly for coeliacs. Lovely service too

Touching is the goodness of the gluten-free pastry shop I tried. I would return to this place infinitely. Even though it's a bit outside the center, it has nothing to do with the other more famous pastry shops, which I won't name, that have locations scattered around the city. Caramel eclairs that I still dream about, all kinds of exceptional cookies. I would have tried every little dessert if I could. You are lucky gluten-free folks in Madrid!

Very tasty gluten free bakery and coffee place. They have crepes, pastries (both sweet and savoury), pies… There is a big variety of choice, the staff is very friendly, the place is clean and modern and you can see the cooks prepare the foods. I totally recommend it.

I visited this shop two weeks ago with my husband as I have Celiac disease. My Spanish is poor so I felt uncomfortable trying to order items by weight rather than by the piece. I instead opted for only the items that were single serve - €6 tiramisu and €6 San Martin (?) cake. I was going to order a loaf of random bread that was on the case labeled "yogurt" until I was told it was €8. The tiramisu didn't have any espresso liquor flavor. What was labeled, I believe, as San Martin cake was light and tasty. Despite commuting nearly an hour back to our hotel (walking and metro) the cakes were frozen in the middle still. The shop is small but is brimming with items! There are many items I had never heard of so if you have good Spanish language skills, you might have more luck getting an assortment of pastries to try. I will warn you that it felt expensive when some of the cakes are labeled €30+ / kilo. €30+ should be the cost of an entire cake, not a slice or two cut from a pan and put in a box to-go. You should visit this spot if you're a celiac and want to try local types of cookies.

10.05 for a slice of Sacher cake and a lactose-free cappuccino seems too much. American-style cake. Nothing special. Nothing compared to gluten-free made in Italy.

The heaven!!! It’s so strange to see so many gluten-free sweets... having the embarrassment of what to choose. I took a long cream puff, a kind of glazed bombolone filled with cream, and a croissant. The bombolone and croissant eaten the next day were delicious. Friendly and dynamic staff. Affordable price.

Very good pastry shop with gluten-free options, the gluten-free croissants are fantastic. The coffee is good. The service is a bit slow in the café but they are kind. The gluten-free Neapolitans are good and have a lot of variety, gluten-free French toast, etc... The price is not bad.

Madrid confirms itself as a modern and welcoming city for everyone, especially for those who are gluten-free! This pastry shop, which produces everything fresh and artisan without gluten, is proof of that... another paradise for the gluten-free community. When I discovered it and walked in, I was almost moved... There are no other cities with pastry shops like this for gluten-free people! Long live Madrid! Long live La Oriental!

Pleasant break trying a decent amount of pastries. It was the display that pulled me in like an irresistible hand. Satisfied with my haul that I ate at the end of Calle del Marqués de Urquijo.
