We dined at Scarpetta Hostaria for the first time and I can say without hesitation that it was one of the most enjoyable culinary experiences I’ve had in Lecce. The venue is elegant yet never formal, meticulously cared for with a welcoming atmosphere that puts you at ease right away. One aspect that struck me the most was the attention to gluten-free options: all the dishes served to us were completely gluten-free, from appetizers to main courses, with no limitations. This is a truly rare find, especially with dishes of this caliber. It was one of the few times I had gluten-free bread to enjoy the house olive oil: a simple gesture that shows care and sensitivity towards those with specific dietary needs. We followed the staff's recommendations for the house specialties, a selection of appetizers that turned out to be excellent: incredibly fresh fish, light and crispy fritters, clear and unobscured flavors. The snapper as a main was the real star of the evening: perfectly cooked, soft and flavorful, balanced garnishes. A dish that alone is worth the visit. The service is impeccable: attentive, knowledgeable staff, always present but never intrusive. Each dish is described with care, enhancing the pleasure of the experience and conveying the passion behind the kitchen's work. The quality-to-price ratio is absolutely fair considering the quality of raw materials, the technique in the dishes, and the overall experience. It’s one of those places that leaves a mark and makes you want to return, and in our case, we definitely will. A restaurant that knows how to combine tradition, taste, and customer care, even when it comes to gluten-free options, without compromising on quality. Highly recommended for anyone looking for an authentic and carefully curated dining experience.
