The pizzas are very good, but a major flaw is the cost, which is really too high for the size (much smaller compared to those with gluten).

SUPERLATIVE PIZZA! As soon as I arrived, I mentioned that I was celiac, and the staff's response was "you will eat one of the best gluten-free pizzas." My expectations were raised and... the pizza was truly fantastic! Excellent dough (not the usual ready-made base), cooked in the restaurant's oven and not in the standard one for other pizzas. I had the Etnea (i.e., the margherita). A very wide variety of toppings (only 4/5 are not orderable gluten-free), they have gluten-free craft beer as well. A surcharge of 4 euros for gluten-free (in this case, considering the quality, acceptable). Make a reservation, the place is very popular and there’s a bit of a wait... For me, the pizza is second only to that of Sorbillo (Mergellina).

I should mention that my problem with gluten and lactose comes from the recent discovery of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). The pizza, which was smaller than its reputation suggests, was definitely good and tasty, moderately seasoned. The main issue was the price, not of the pizza itself (it's known that prices are quite high almost everywhere now), but of everything else: - gluten-free €3.50 - lactose-free mozzarella €3.50 - addition of ham €3 At the time of ordering, I was only aware of the increased price for gluten-free, which was indicated on the menu. There were no indications for the lactose-free mozzarella; I asked if it was possible when ordering, and they said yes without telling me the cost (had I known beforehand, I would have just asked to leave it off, which in the end wouldn't have made much difference..); for the addition of the ham, setting aside the fact that on the website it was marked as €0, perhaps by mistake, I could have expected €1.50 or €2, definitely not an extra three euros. In short, the moral of the story is, on €10.50 for the pizza, I paid an additional €10 for modifications.. it seems they took advantage a bit too much.

I had high expectations, but the gummy dough, very small sizes compared to regular pizzas, and sky-high prices disappointed me a lot; I won't be going back!

I have visited many pizzerias for celiacs around Italy, and I can guarantee that the pizza they make here is astonishing! It looks like a normal gluten pizza, delicious both in toppings and in dough! I also did the 'next day test' and it was still amazing! I recommend it to all celiacs.

You absolutely have to go to Al Vicolo because it is not the classic place, but it is a trendy spot where you can eat really well and drink, frequented by lots of beautiful people. The staff is welcoming, courteous, and quick in service. There's disco music with a DJ and photographer. The menu is huge with boards, main courses, salads, and gluten-free options. If you choose the pizza, I don’t know if you’ll be able to eat it all since the pizzas are enormous (they hang off the plate) but thin, and you can choose from various doughs. I recommend booking well in advance, especially on weekends. Inside, the place is small, but there’s also a large outdoor area. You can also go just for drinks and dancing after dinner. Prices are slightly high, but it’s reasonable given that it’s a chic place situated in the historic center of Catania.

Even though we had a reservation, we waited 45 minutes beyond the time they indicated. Once seated, however, the service was quick, albeit quite frantic and impersonal. The location could be utilized better; as for the pizza, it is too large and has a significant thickness, making it practically impossible for one person to eat. The quality is good, but there is nothing on the menu that takes into account those with intolerances; mozzarella is present everywhere. It was an experience I had once, but I don't think I'll repeat it.

A small pizzeria in the heart of Catania, it is informal and well-maintained but not characterized by particularly memorable decor details! The menu offers a good selection of pizzas (...including gluten-free) specifying various D.O.P products! The pizzas are well-topped, nicely cooked, and 'large in size' which I would recommend sharing! The staff provides quick service and the waiters are very polite! Prices are slightly higher than average! It is advisable to book a table one or two days in advance if you wish to have lunch or dinner to avoid 'long waits' (we chose one of the 2 available times for lunch)! Excellent cocktail preparation. Recommended!
