We arrived as a group of five, including one celiac individual, on a Saturday for lunch without a reservation. Despite this, they welcomed us with a remarkable calmness and kindness. The atmosphere of Osteria da Pttavius is warm and inviting, the classic place where you sit down and immediately feel at ease. Furthermore, the establishment is part of the AIC, which immediately made us feel reassured in choosing gluten-free dishes. We started with appetizers: polentine (gluten-free) in various truffle variations, with sweet and sour sauce, with mushrooms, with cheese, and with ciauscolo. Each one was delicious, truly an excellent start. For the main courses, we chose different dishes. The celiac guest was served a porcini mushroom risotto, which was very good. Then came chitarrini with white ragù and truffle, also well-executed; pappardelle “chinghialate” with cuttlefish ink, with a strong flavor; tagliatelle with hemp, porcini mushrooms, and walnuts, very balanced; and finally a cacio e pepe with walnuts, perhaps the least convincing dish, not really their strong point. The desserts also made their mark: a very decent gluten-free tiramisù, a panna cotta with truffle and honey that was truly spectacular, and a very good gianduiotto. The quality-price ratio is more than acceptable. An osteria that knows how to welcome guests and provide good food, even for those with special dietary needs. Recommended!

Stunning location, very unique, and the jazz music pleasantly accompanies the evening. Almost all the dishes are gluten-free, although the bread and pasta are packaged, but it’s good that we also have gnocchi at least. There are also some desserts available. Overall, a good dinner at a fair price.

I believe without a shadow of a doubt that I have stumbled upon the best and most characteristic restaurant in Bevagna. The cuisine linked to the territory and tradition, the charming location with its paintings and relaxing music, the brick vaulted ceiling in farmhouse style, the courtesy of the waitstaff, and the friendliness and presence of the owner truly make it a five-star place. Then my luck was that it is also a place that serves gluten-free dishes in accordance with regulations, indeed it has the AIC marks. Everything we ordered satisfied us 100%... as an appetizer a mix of polenta, gluten-free gnocchi with sagrantino, hemp fettuccine with porcini, and the belly of cinta senese for the main course. I'm sure that when I return to Umbria and find myself nearby, I will go back to savor that cuisine which is itself a journey within a journey....
