Excellent training of all staff, wide selection of safe gluten-free dishes, including desserts. Reasonable prices and lots of truffle. Highly recommended!

Cute place with an internal terrace. Good food but it didn't impress me too much. The pappardelle with goose were basically in tomato sauce and the carbonara was very egg-heavy, making it heavy and overpowering the flavor of the Guanciale. The chocolate pyramid was good. There is a possibility of gluten-free pasta and good artisanal gluten-free pizza.

We had lunch on December 31st with a group of friends at this restaurant. All the courses were delicious and perfectly sized. We started with a platter of typical cured meats from Eugubino and bruschetta, followed by tagliatelle with goose sauce for the first course, and roasted suckling pig with porcini mushrooms, salad, baked potatoes, and for dessert a chantilly cream with puff pastry and caramel. Everything was accompanied by excellent house wine. The table service was impeccable. Young staff but very skilled and professional. In our group, there were various intolerances, but they managed them perfectly. The environment is very spacious and pleasant. The quality-price ratio was also excellent. Special thanks to Elena for the service in the dining room and to the owner Mr. Leandro. Definitely a restaurant to recommend for anyone visiting Gubbio. And if I were to return, LA BALESTRA will certainly be my go-to spot for a good lunch or dinner!!!

A somewhat dated restaurant located on the main street of Gubbio. It offers typical dishes from Gubbio and gluten-free pizza. We had a truffle omelet as a starter, which I found to be a bit dry, and a truffle cheese fondue (the type of cheese wasn't specified). To finish, we ordered a stuffed pasta (ricotta and spinach) with porcini mushrooms and Gubbio saffron. In my opinion, there was also cream in the sauce that overwhelmed the flavor of the porcini. Additionally, we found the tablecloth damaged and one of the plates chipped, which is a sign that there is a lack of attention to detail.

Ample restaurant very old-fashioned and a bit dated (even the furnishings as can be seen from the photo). It is located on one of the busiest streets of Gubbio. The service is quick and there are several typical dishes, with gluten-free and vegetarian options. The fondue is good with a generous sprinkle of truffle and the margheritine, where the saffron was noticeable. The omelette was a bit too dry, but overall, we found it quite good.
