If you’re gluten-free and anywhere near downtown Valencia, do yourself a favor and hit up Sana Locura. The name means “healthy madness,” and honestly… it checks out. This place is 100% gluten-free, and yet they’ve got everything: proper baguettes, crusty loaves, rolls, pastries, cookies, sandwiches, even empanadas. Not the sad “GF option” corner — the full bakery experience. We ended up going twice during our stay. First time we grabbed a baguette for breakfast at our apartment — absolutely spot on, great texture, no weird aftertaste. Second time we sat down and went a bit all in: chocolate croissant, ham & cheese croissant sandwich, an apple pastry, and a couple of savory empanadas. Everything was seriously high quality. If you didn’t know it was gluten-free, you wouldn’t guess. No compromise vibes at all. It’s clearly not a hidden gem — every time we walked by, the place was packed. And now I get why. Central location, 100% sin gluten, and a selection you just don’t usually find all in one place. Even if you’re not gluten intolerant, you can walk in with zero hesitation. Highly recommended.

Fantastic experience in Valencia. Not only gluten free but also many items lactose free and all clearly labelled. Very helpful and a bit tucked in so for locals only - not too touristy which was perfect. The tarta Santiago was insanely good. Muchas gracias!!

Lovely service. All the food is gluten free... Paradise for people like me with gluten intolerance and for coeliacs. Went to breakfast with a friend in the morning, and then in the afternoon for coffee and pudding after lunch elsewhere: and finally enjoyed a gf apple strudel...a dream come true!👍🏻 Marilyn was serving all by himself, on a Sunday afternoon, and she was fabulous. Would the owners consider enlarging the facilities and place more staff at weekends and now the it's Christmas season? 🙏🏻 I'll be meeting more friends there. Fabulous!

Great prices and super tasty! Everything is gluten free. They have tons of sweet and savory options so I'll be back to try more. Loved the chocolate napolitanos and croissants but will need to come back to try some of the savory empanadas. The location is excellent, right near the center of the city and down the street from the ayuntamiento area

Sana Locura is a completely gluten-free place suitable for both breakfast and a quick lunch. I recently visited and tried several things: various empanadas, all very good and well filled, then a white chocolate millefoglie, a croissant, and a kind of cream-filled pastry that was really excellent! I also had a cheesecake. Highly recommended if you are looking for a quality gluten-free place in the heart of Valencia. I would definitely go back.

If you are gluten-free this is a must see. If you are not, still amazing pastries. Hard to tell the food is entirely gluten-free. Also the coffee and tea is high quality. Croissants are amazing.

As a celiac on a trip to Valencia, I had to look for a place where I could eat something, and this spot came up among the suggestions. Not far from Placa de l'Ayutamient, it became a regular stop for breakfast every morning. All the pastries were good (the cream-filled napolitana was fantastic) with a wide selection of cookies, brioche, and cakes. Although it's a café/pastry shop, I also had the option to grab a sandwich for lunch since there's a small selection of savory items. The place is small but welcoming. Recommended for all celiacs visiting Valencia.

A 100% gluten-free bakery that is simply WONDERFUL! My partner and I fell in love from day one, and it quickly became a regular stop for our breakfasts. It's very easy to reach, as there's a metro stop just a few steps away. Every morning we tried different pastries because the choices were many and all delicious. Everything was always accompanied by classic cappuccino and a cappuccino with plant-based milk. Before leaving, we always took some empty sandwiches, which were really delicious, and we filled them ourselves for lunch. Finally, the staff was always very kind. We will miss having breakfast with you!

It was a regular stop during our stay in Valencia. The bakery is centrally located and easily reachable on foot or by bike. It offers tables inside and outside. The prices are a bit higher than the average pastry shops, but since everything is gluten free, it makes sense. We tried numerous sweets and brioche during our visits. We also took their empanadas to go. The empanadas were good; the dough seemed a bit rubbery, but being gluten free, I believe that's normal. The sweets we liked the most were the stuffed croissants and the plumcake, very tasty. The only downside I would say is the lactose. I don’t understand why they use it, as it is still harmful for celiacs, and for someone like me who is lactose intolerant, it definitely complicates the choice of sweets.

I had breakfast at this place and I was satisfied. Very good products. Not cheap, but in line with other gluten-free places. The cappuccino needs improvement; it was coffee with scalding milk.

Great gluten-free bakery for a quick breakfast or snack. Prices are a bit high, some products didn't impress me, but others I loved, and I found a good consistency with the price. When in doubt, I think it's a must-stop for someone with celiac disease!
