After recently discovering that I am celiac, finding a place to eat peacefully is not so obvious. Èssenza in Locorotondo was a truly precious discovery. Here, everything is designed to be gluten-free and lactose-free, so you can order with peace of mind, without worrying about contamination. The venue is small but very well-kept, with a welcoming atmosphere. The owners are kind, helpful, and always smiling, making you feel at ease right away. The selection of local wines is also noteworthy. The quality of the food is surprising: focaccia, panzerotti, meatballs are so good that it’s hard to believe they are completely gluten-free. A place well worth visiting when in Locorotondo, especially for those who are celiac but don’t want to give up the pleasure of eating well. Highly recommended.

Their ability to provide dining services is their hallmark. For two years we have been visiting all the gluten-free establishments, but this one beats them all. We tried everything from bruschetta, bread, sandwiches, hamburgers, bombette, meatballs in sauce, to first courses (orecchiette and stuffed pasta), finishing with desserts (warm chocolate cake, fruit club sandwich, and cookies). Everything, and I mean everything, is homemade and of high quality. Congratulations guys, keep it up; professionalism along with kindness will surely lead to success.

I had dinner in this little restaurant on the evening of the San Rocco festival. Chosen because it offers gluten-free and lactose-free dishes, we decided to try various local specialties: panzerotto, bombette, and focaccia. The thing I appreciated the least was the panzerotto, which was almost a joke because it was poor in seasoning, and I hope that this is clear from the photo. The bombette were good, and the focaccina was good too. The bread was excellent, so much so that I wrapped it up to take home for the next day. The staff was kind and helpful, trying to do their best on a complicated evening, but I think the venue needs some rethinking, as it is too small for the demand. Prices were incredibly normal, nothing overpriced as often happens in places dedicated to those with intolerances. I hope to return and be able to change my mind, especially about the food.

Impeccable culinary experience! I had the pleasure of dining at "Essenza" and was deeply impressed. Each dish was an explosion of taste, carefully crafted in every detail both in presentation and flavors. What struck me the most, and this may seem trivial, was the gluten-free cereal bread, with its flavor, texture, and smokiness that left me speechless, in addition to the top-quality ingredients, creative yet balanced combinations, and attentive, friendly service. Highly recommended for those seeking an alternative, refined, and different type of cuisine that truly makes an impression.

Pleasant discovery, finally a place with alternative cuisine! Gluten Free and lactose-free, all strictly cooked to order by an excellent chef. We gave a free hand to our palates and were truly satisfied. Refined cuisine and delicious dishes, both in appearance and taste! At the end of the culinary experience, a great dessert accompanied by two drinks prepared with care and passion according to our tastes. We will definitely return as soon as possible.
