Great gluten free cafe, bakery, and shop. Leaving aside the freshly baked food counter, the amount of gluten free options here is massive. From local food in a GF flair to biscuits, cakes, and savoury focaccia. Fresh pasta, cereals, piadina and pizza base... I've never seen so many gluten free options in a store. Absolutely recommended, I often have breakfast here when I'm back in Modena, and they never disappoint!

While passing through Modena, I discovered this fabulous place. In many years as a celiac from Bologna, I had never seen such an assortment of fresh products. I ate a filled focaccia that I still dream about at night. If they did shipping, I would order at least once a month.

Eating healthy, alas, is a luxury, but kindness shouldn't be. I am convinced that the ladies of this place consider themselves kind and welcoming, but my impression is that every question for clarification is perceived with annoyance. Of course, in Modena there is no competition, so the game is easily won, but some are willing to forego their delicacies just to have breakfast in a more hospitable place.

Unfortunately, I have to say it was a traumatic experience. I took two pieces of savory pie (erbazzone) to go, without knowing the price because I don't think I saw it anywhere, and at the moment of paying I had the bitter surprise of €16. Maybe they added some gold leaf along with the other vegetables? €32 per kilo is really too much... Anyway, I can say that they won't see me again.

Very large shop/bar (even though it doesn't look like it from the outside!). Convenient parking in front, and the venue is also super easy to reach given its location. It's a 100% gluten-free store, with all kinds of sweet and savory food, which also offers a bar and pastry service with a huge selection of vegan options, both for plant-based milk and for desserts and savory items. Not being celiac, I don't come to buy but for the bar/cafeteria which is really great! Prices (for the bar, sweet and savory) are definitely good. Plus, inside, among the shelves, there are many little tables where you can sit!

My girlfriend, who has celiac disease, and I were on our way back to Germany from tuscany and decided to stop here by chance. We had a long journey ahead of us and weren't planning on staying longer than 20mins for coffee and toasts. However, this place ended being so great that we stayed for over an hour. The service of the highest quality! We were greeted by wonderful staff, who were kind and helpful and so much more. The prices of the products were much cheaper than in Germany, which shocked us as the quality was much better and the selection was much larger than in any German supermarket. We had such a great experience, that the long journey after our visit at Starbene, was no longer an issue. I definitely recommend a visit here. Thank you for the wonderful experience

Fresh products are quite good, although the taste can be improved. Cream puffs are very good, brioche and small pizzas are fairly good but could be revised a bit, while another type of fresh pastries, like small puff pastry towers, need a complete rework.
