It is called street food but it reads... democratic cuisine, for everyone, with everyone, within everyone's reach: naturally gluten-free with lots of flavor, simple and convivial, like at home. Enrico and his son Gabriele gave us a wonderful evening, serenity at the table for us celiacs and non-celiacs, goodness in their dishes and interesting stories about Palermitan and Sicilian cuisine. We tried a sandwich with croquettes (unfortunately it didn’t have the panelle) and a stuffed potato, and we were satisfied. Generous portions. The street where you eat is a bit chaotic since it's in a super touristy area, but it wasn't a big problem. The owner assured that everything was gluten-free, and I had no symptoms.

Highly recommended: a small place with a few outdoor seats, perfect for takeout! The bread, panelle, and crocché are delicious—fried but not greasy, very flavorful and served in warm, soft bread. 😋😋 All of this combined with a nice smile and a central location! P.S.: all options are available gluten-free as well.

For the first time, my celiac boyfriend was able to enjoy panelle and crocchè without the risk of contamination! They were really delicious, made as they should be! The owner prepared them for us fresh and was really kind, even giving us some tips to try to reproduce them at home! The next time we come down, we'll definitely stop by again!

Stop here to try the gluten-free panelle. The fryer is dedicated only to gluten-free, so there's no contamination. However, they do not have gluten-free bread. There are tables outside if you want to sit there to eat.
