I went to this very casual place with some non-celiac friends: we all left with full stomachs and satisfied!! I highly recommend it because the prices are reasonable, the SG dough is fresh and very easy to digest, and the products are of high quality and maximum freshness.

All pizzas (except for the fried ones) are gluten-free. They are very rich in toppings and have an excellent quality/price ratio. I don't give 5 stars because the dough wasn't excellent; I've eaten Neapolitan pizza in many other places and the dough was much more risen. However, it remains a great pizza.

We went to "Da Michele" in Salerno with great expectations, relying on the brand's fame and the quality that should characterize a place of this level. Unfortunately, our experience was anything but positive. We ordered a gluten-free pizza, sure of finding an artisanal dough worthy of the name this pizzeria carries. However, we were faced with a product that disappointed in every aspect. Upon serving, we were hit by a strong smell of frozen dough, really uninviting. At the first bite, the pizza turned out raw and tasteless, with a consistency that seemed far from fresh or carefully crafted. When we pointed out the problem to the waiter, we were assured with conviction that the dough was artisanal. Yet, it was absolutely evident that it was frozen, both from the taste and the texture. A clumsy attempt to cover up a low quality that we did not expect from such a renowned brand. We expected a high standard, especially for those with specific dietary needs like gluten intolerance. Instead, we felt like we were eating something industrial and of poor quality. Unfortunately, we can only say we are extremely disappointed. A well-known name is not enough if it is not accompanied by the quality it promises. Hoping this experience serves as a wake-up call for the management to upgrade their gluten-free options.

As usual, we had a great time. Even though I noticed that the pizza may not have been as light as in past years, the taste was still exceptional. One thing that positively struck me was the affordability of the prices. Compared to northern Italy, here the prices are truly unbeatable. The classic Margherita, one of the most beloved dishes, costs only €5, offering excellent value for money. In addition, I was pleasantly surprised by the availability of the gluten-free option, which is rare to find elsewhere. Although it has a slightly higher cost (€7), it is an option that is truly worth it for those with specific dietary needs. The staff made the experience even more enjoyable. Always kind, friendly, and helpful, they contributed to creating a warm and family-like atmosphere. In summary, Antica Pizzeria di Michele in Salerno is a must-visit for lovers of authentic pizza and conviviality. The deliciousness of the dishes, the affordable prices, and the friendly service make it a true gem in the local culinary scene.
