un environnement vraiment super facile, 5/6 places assises et le meilleur poulet frit de tous les temps ! si tu aimes le piquant, les morceaux de poulet de loco chicken deviendront une obsession irrésistible ! le bun avec le poulet frit est fantastique ! super prix ! si tu passes par Kyoto, un arrêt fondamental ! tout est sans gluten, donc super tranquille

The best chicken burger I've eaten in Japan, full stop. Loco Chicken in Kyoto's Kawaramachi district is a tiny counter-only spot with just four seats, built around the Hawaiian tradition of mochiko chicken: thigh meat marinated in lemon, Hawaiian sea salt, ginger and garlic, then coated in sweet rice flour and fried in rice oil until the crust is shattering-crispy and the inside stays cloud-soft and juicy. We ordered three burgers between two of us. The Caesar was the unanimous favourite: white miso Caesar sauce, snow-grated Parmesan, mizuna, and Kyoto radish pickles stacked over a perfect mochiko patty, all of it bright, salty, and elegant. The Loco Essence was the wild card: mochiko chicken glazed in black molasses and red miso, topped with melted cheddar and yuzu emulsion. Strange on paper, genuinely compelling on the plate. That dark, lacquered glaze has the depth of an unagi tare and the kind of flavour that takes a moment to place but refuses to be forgotten. The habanero Kyoto burger delivered a slow, genuine heat. The matcha lemonade is a must, it was sooo good The atmosphere is snug, warm, and lit like a quiet izakaya. We ended up chatting with two British fellow travellers at the counter who'd made the trip specifically for the gluten-free menu (all chicken is naturally GF; the rice buns are an extra 240 yen and completely worth it). Service was unhurried, generous, and proud of the food. At around 1,000 to 1,300 yen per burger, this is some of the best value eating in Kyoto. Go early or expect to wait outside. A very easy five stars.

Le meilleur burger de poulet de tous les temps. Tout est cuit à la perfection. Même leur pain de riz mochi sans gluten est bien réussi (voir photo). Nous avons pris l'habitude de manger ici presque tous les jours où nous sommes à Kyoto. C'est génial qu'ils offrent l'option à emporter, car leur expérience de restauration est plutôt intime et se remplit rapidement. Le à emporter était rapide et bien emballé. Les rondelles d'oignon en supplément étaient trop bonnes à chaque fois. Nous adorons ces burgers, merci Loco Chicken!
