I’m sorry because in the end the pizza (gluten-free, the reason we went to this pizzeria) was good and made with a decent dough... I don’t feel I can judge the service differently due to what happened. We didn’t start off on the right foot: even on the phone, the owner, anxious about the confusion, confirms that they make takeout pizzas but refuses, quite curtly, to take the order over the phone, brusquely telling us to come to the pizzeria and get in line. But until then... we can overlook it. I respond saying I thought it would be better to order by phone to help them since the kitchen was about to close. We go to the pizzeria and as I expected, one of the waitresses replies that they can no longer make the pizza, fortunately being corrected by the owner who remembered the phone call. We take the pizza and go to a beach that is 20 minutes from the pizzeria, accounting for the time to settle and eat. Just before grabbing the last slice, I notice the surprise: a well-cooked bug right in a piece of mozzarella... how it didn’t become visible to me, I understand that in the rush it might not have been visible to the cook either, a bit like how it could happen with a hair.... For such an insect, however, I find it right to ask for a full refund of the pizza since for the customer it can also be a cockroach, notoriously dangerous, and this constitutes serious contamination. Upon our return with the receipt and the incriminating slice, we are told that it’s a woodworm from the oven and we are offered a 50% refund, which we refuse, at which point unaware that we might have ingested other possible contaminations as well. After the necessary apologies, a discussion opens up arguing that "but you ate the pizza" and that according to them we should have come back immediately to ask for a refund... I reply that it took 20 minutes just to open the box on the beach and another 20 to return... so I don't understand the insinuations... a dish with such contamination requires a FULL REFUND due to the total distrust in the cleanliness of the dish that causes the customer such a surprise... there’s no debating... a 50% discount is a joke... let’s see if they don’t give the refund after we report it to the health authority... the refund we eventually received should have been OFFERED. According to them, every time we go to the pizzeria we’ll have to open the box to make sure there are no insects on the pizza.... Ridiculous.

Having a daughter who is intolerant to gluten and lactose, we searched for a pizzeria that could accommodate all of us. After many years in Viareggio and trying many other places, we booked and tried Amare. We had a wonderful evening in a small and intimate setting, with a menu that caters to everyone at a great quality-price ratio. If you are in Viareggio and need a place where those with and without intolerances can enjoy eating and drinking together, stop here because you have found the right spot.

Good pizza and gluten-free options, but service needs improvement. I went to this restaurant with my family and, although the overall experience was positive, there were some aspects that deserve attention. The service was rather slow: we had to wait a long time to receive the courses, which somewhat weighed down the evening. In particular, we had asked for two appetizers to be served while we waited for the pizzas, but instead, everything was brought out together. That said, the pizza was good, with a well-risen and tasty dough. The gluten-free crust was truly excellent! The presence of well-crafted gluten-free options was also much appreciated, both for adults and in the menu dedicated to children. Overall, a place with good potential, especially for those with specific dietary needs.

A quiet and relaxing location, jazz music in the background, what can I say! The gluten-free pizza is one of the best I've ever had, fresh ingredients. They have a vast selection of dishes, from appetizers to first and second courses and pizzas, with gluten-free and vegan options for every dish. Highly recommended.

Particular dishes, many with a gluten-free option! Gnudi and tarte tatin are highly appreciated. Industrial but very well-kept environment, a little cold. Attentive and courteous service.

Location of the restaurant is in a local street somewhere in the city and therefore really cosy. Italian vibes. I had the aubergine mousse and the gluten-free pizza. The bottom was made of several grains and therefore different, but tasty. We had the Vermentino, what is a perfect combination and ( of course) a wine from the region. If you look for a local restaurant with honest food I suggest to visit A-mare!

We only had the pizza, but the menu was very refined and inviting. The regular and gluten-free pizza was very good, crispy and perfectly seasoned, with quality ingredients that were treated perfectly. The only possible flaw was (at my explicit request) not explaining the ingredients of the gluten-free pizza dough, limiting themselves to 'gluten-free flour mix'. However, definitely worth trying and returning!

Restaurant near the central market of Viareggio. Well furnished, warm, and comfortable. Delicious pizza, thin but not too much, crunchy and well-risen. Selected and high-quality ingredients. Fast and attentive service. An additional compliment for the desserts, the cannoli was really very good. The price is in line with what we ate: for 3 pizzas, 2 beers (75cl), 3 desserts, and a small appetizer about €25 per person. Approval note: a gluten-free version is also available for each pizza. I highly recommend trying it, you won't be disappointed.

Very good pizzas, light, easily digestible, and all available in gluten-free version. The toppings are made with Italian doc/dop products and, therefore, the prices are, rightly so, slightly higher than average. The only complaint I have is that for the price you pay, and not just for the pizzas, these could be a bit larger.

Some absolutely amazing food! With lovely staff who were able to accommodate for my mum's gluten allergy. Highly recommend the 5 fish starter.
