For me a confirmation: the Aurea Hotel has been a staple for my holidays for 20 years. I need to rely on those who truly understand celiac disease and provide safe and tasty gluten-free meals. This year even better with the new chef. The location is ideal, with a front-row view of the sunrise over the sea. Thanks to Valerio and all his staff. We'll see each other again next year!

In Bellaria, right in front of the sea and just a stone's throw from the center, is a comfortable hotel with its own internal parking. Impeccable service, kind, fast, and prepared; it's nice to always be greeted with a smile, even by the cleaning ladies, who deserve special mention for keeping the rooms very well, along with the truly kind and accommodating waiters. The menu is varied, mainly seafood-based, but with a double choice for both the first and second courses, and options available off the menu as well. Another commendation goes to the kitchen, which expertly handles all issues regarding allergies and intolerances, such as the simple yet ingenious solution of using dishes of different colors for specific allergy dishes. The only downside of the two rooms we took is that the double room is very small and lacks a bidet, but both have a sea-view balcony and air conditioning. What can I say, perfect location, good food, a service rated 10 out of 10; truly a good hotel.

Three days of NIGHTMARE. We started on the first day with the wrong room assignment: I joined my aunt and my little cousin (8 years old) who had been there for a couple of days already, and the hotel staff told us they would add an extra bed without any problems for my short stay in their room, but that didn't happen and I was assigned a room that was already occupied. You don't pay much attention to it, everyone makes mistakes, and they moved me to a new room, although the fact remains that it wasn’t exactly what was agreed upon. Shall we talk about the lack of professionalism of the waitresses? Well, I have some intolerances (already communicated at the time of booking), but apparently making customers uncomfortable is a must in this hotel. I found NOT A SINGLE option for me at lunch, dinner, or breakfast. I had to write down options I could eat because they hadn't bothered to prepare something suitable for my needs. I asked if I could at least have a soy yogurt for breakfast (since I paid and even if you don’t have it, you can go buy it), but I was told that it wasn’t their responsibility. The same went for the organic options. The waitress during meals even had the nerve to turn to another couple at a nearby table and say, "I just don’t understand this one." And it was always the same waitress who made us wait 40 minutes every time before seeing a dish, for both me and my aunt and little cousin, while others had already finished their first and second courses. Was it spite? Coincidence? I don’t want to answer that. Not to mention the last day: I had understood and PAID for lunch on the departure day and they didn’t even have the table set. The same waitress comes to the table and says that nothing had been communicated to her directly from me, and that I wasn’t listed for lunch that day, when I had requested confirmation at check-in and was told absolutely yes. When I countered the waitress, she had the audacity to tell me that I HAD MADE A MISTAKE BECAUSE KITCHEN MATTERS SHOULD NOT BE TOLD TO RECEPTION. What!?!?!? If you don’t communicate among yourselves, it’s not my problem. I have to refer to reception; it’s not like I come to the kitchen to say what needs to be done, because at that point, I might as well cook myself so at least I would eat something. Terrible experience, really, also for my family. Especially since it’s not such an inexpensive hotel, given the quality of the service.

I stayed with my family for 10 days in August 2023 at this hotel. What can I say? A very convenient place, fantastic food especially for celiacs and lactose intolerant like us, the staff was helpful... we will definitely be back!!!! Daniela from Turin

Carefree vacation with gluten-free food, from breakfast to dinner; my daughter with celiac disease enjoyed it a lot. Staff was attentive to all our needs. It was wonderful to leave the hotel and find ourselves on the beach just a few meters away.

Hotel located by the sea with internal parking. A varied menu with abundant and balanced portions; the gluten-free dishes are no different from the others (unlike what often happens elsewhere, where gluten-free dishes are always different just to make people feel comfortable...). The management is available and kind, the rooms are appropriately sized; what is the point of having a 120 sqm suite in Bellaria Igea Marina?! See you next year!

We are thrilled to have stayed at the Aurea hotel... everyone was very kind, helpful, clean rooms, very good restaurant, perfect for celiacs as they are very attentive to every need. To get to the beach, you just have to cross the street and you are immediately on the sand... beautiful place, very kind Valerio, Giorgia, and all their staff... thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making our vacation special.

Highly discouraged. After two nights spent at Hotel Aurea, we changed accommodations. The welcome upon our arrival at the hotel left us perplexed: despite having communicated in the morning that we would arrive in the late afternoon, the owner began by saying, "We were losing hope." Tired from the trip, we did not pay much attention to the exclamation. The room was very small and not clean (dead insects on the floor and dusty shelves and nightstands). The bathroom was tiny: to get into the shower, one had to close the folding door due to lack of space, and the sink was so small that washing one’s face also meant washing one’s feet. We slept very poorly because every little noise from the hallway and the outside street could be heard, despite the owner’s assurance during the booking process that the rooms were soundproofed. We chose this hotel over others because I was promised a vegan and gluten-free menu. As soon as I sat at the table, I felt bombarded with rules that I would have to follow to ensure the staff wouldn’t make mistakes serving me only gluten-free dishes. When I politely asked why I hadn’t been presented with a vegan menu, the waitress (who served at the tables in a tank top and shorts, without a uniform or at least an apron) brushed me off, telling me that they do not make vegan menus and that I could propose dishes/ingredients to the chef myself. I tried to be accommodating by suggesting easy-to-make vegan dishes so as not to put pressure on the kitchen staff, but my suggestions were never accepted, and I had to settle for the same grilled vegetables that were present on the buffet. They even offered me buttered pasta, which is clearly not vegan, showing a total lack of knowledge on the subject. In any case, the omnivore menu was also of poor quality; the dishes looked like they came from a hospital. The same buffet, described on the website as very varied and suitable for all tastes, only offered salad, carrots, corn, and grilled vegetables. Let’s not even talk about breakfast: one young man asked if he could have some fresh fruit, and the response was, "Eh, the fruit vendor hasn’t arrived yet, be patient." It’s a pity that the description on the site also talked about fruit salads and homemade desserts for every taste. When my husband asked for a couple of slices of toasted bread, the reply was, "Eh, look, be patient, but the griddle is off, and it takes half an hour to turn it back on." But the worst part was finding visibly dirty dishes and glasses at every meal. I find all this unacceptable, especially considering the price of the stay: we spent 75 euros per person per day to sleep poorly, eat worse, and be treated like unwelcome guests. After we communicated our decision to leave the hotel the next day, there was another slip in decorum: the waitress came to me after the evening service, telling me that one day she would also become vegan and clearly showing a false interest in the topic, only to end the conversation by saying, "I just don’t understand vegans." During this very short stay, we always showed understanding towards every lack of professionalism from the staff, but I want to leave this review so that they can improve the service offered, thus allowing their guests to have a serene and rewarding vacation.

Beachfront hotel, where courtesy reigns supreme. The owner Valerio and his partner Giorgia manage the Aurea hotel impeccably together with a dynamic and professional team. Always ready to fulfill customers' wishes, Hotel Aurea offers a selection of multi-course menus, with a buffet, desserts, and fruit all served in no time and always with a smile ☺ Cooking is also available for those with food intolerances!
