. No joke—I’m from NYC, and this is hands down the best pizza and steak I’ve ever had. From the moment we walked in, the service was exceptional. The entire staff was incredibly kind, welcoming, and genuinely invested in making sure we had a great experience. They consistently checked on us throughout the meal and made sure we had everything we needed without ever making us feel rushed. My aunt has a gluten allergy, and they went above and beyond to accommodate her dietary needs, which we truly appreciated. It was refreshing to dine somewhere that focuses on creating a memorable experience rather than trying to turn tables as quickly as possible. While everyone was fantastic, our waiter Alex was absolutely outstanding. He was attentive, friendly, professional, and played a huge role in making our visit so enjoyable. His attention to detail and genuine care for his guests really stood out. If you have the chance, ask for Alex—you won’t be disappointed. This restaurant exceeded all expectations, and I can’t recommend it enough. We’ll definitely be back!

My favorite restaurant in Florence has everything gluten-free and two separate kitchens. Spectacular pizza.

Gluten free food so good my girlfriend and I had to go there twice. It's also positioned very conveniently outside of the historic center. The drinks are good (I recommend the limoncello) and the waiters are kind and actually quite funny. The owner was present quite a few times as well and clearly cares about the place a lot. You can buy their flour for gluten free recipes by the way!

The entire menu is available in gluten-free version, the kitchen is separated and there is great attention. Lots of choices, delicious and safe dishes. As a celiac, I highly recommend it.

tourist restaurant but with excellent prices for the quality of the products, delicious gluten-free pizza!

Fantastic place! Excellent food and service, everyone very friendly and nice. Highly recommended even for those with celiac disease like me, the food is great! A big thanks to Alex and the whole team for a very pleasant evening.

The place is very well kept, warm and welcoming, the food is good and the service is excellent. Alex was very kind and professional, as was the girl who brought us to the table. Great for those who eat gluten and lactose-free.

Superb experience. All the staff are kind and very well-prepared to accommodate those with food intolerances or allergies. Finally, I found a place that values food and service for those who usually have difficulties. From the outside, it may seem like just a tourist spot, but the food is good and the service is even better.

Excellent dishes!!! Delicious pizza!!! Great service and maximum attention towards those who are intolerant to gluten and lactose. It is always a pleasure to eat at Ciro when visiting Florence. Until next time ❤️💙!!!

I was here on the evening of April 26th, Saturday, great place and beautiful atmosphere. As soon as we sat down, we noticed it was very crowded and indeed the dishes took a while to arrive, about 30-40 minutes just for an appetizer and around 20 minutes for the first courses. I really appreciated the consideration for my lactose intolerance. I noticed that everyone had a "gluten free" and "lactose free" label, which is not common elsewhere. The price was a bit high, considering what we ordered, but nothing to say about the food, it was good. An experience worth having. :)

Everything was delicious! Gluten-free cuoppo and gluten-free and lactose-free pizza were really good. The entire menu is replicable without gluten and lactose (except for desserts, nearly all gluten-free). The only downside is that €8 for the draft beer seems excessive to me.
5
Fantastic gluten-free food! Lots of variety and everything of high quality. Alex, our waiter, was very kind and helpful, as was the rest of the staff. Price might be slightly high, but considering we are in the center of Florence, it is still reasonable.

Do you have lactose intolerance or are you celiac? You are in the right place! Their entire menu is available both gluten-free and lactose-free (they are certified). We ate both pizza and from the restaurant, and everything was very good. The dishes are well presented (which is a plus), and the flavors are excellent. The venue is internally elegant, but with a touch of Italian tradition, with small, closely placed tables; the staff is polite and welcoming, ready to meet the customers' needs, and also prepared for the many tourists around, as they know many languages. A tip: book online, even during the week, or you risk having to wait a long time before being seated, especially on weekends.

I go there every time I'm in Florence. The pizza is wonderful like everything else. I highly recommend it to both celiacs and non-celiacs.
5
I am celiac and I have never eaten such a good gluten-free pizza in my life. And what’s even more incredible is that they make everything gluten-free. I went 4 times in 5 days because I always ate in a sublime way. Pizza, first courses, second courses... all fantastic but especially a magnificent staff. Everyone was kind and smiling. Impeccable.

good gluten-free pizza. very kind staff.

I am celiac, I have tried many gluten-free pizzerias in Florence, but this is definitely my favorite. The staff are all really nice, and we were attended by Alì and Alessandro, who were very kind and super attentive. Highly recommended!

fabulous!

Excellent food, prices are reasonable for Florence. Alex and the rest of the staff are very polite :) even the gluten-free options were great.

very friendly staff, super nice environment. I tried the pizza, really not bad! same for the dessert, too bad they only have one without lactose.

Very good coccoli even in the gluten-free version, although the portion is a bit small. Baked sea bream very good! Good calzone! Tiramisu, crepes, and other desserts exclusively in the gluten-free version. The tiramisu 8/10; crepes 9/10. Very fair bill. The dining room manager is helpful and attentive. All gluten-free dishes are marked with a sticker, including bread (excellent!).

I wanted to try this place because, according to my partner, they serve the best gluten-free pizza I have ever eaten. As soon as you enter, you are struck by the venue, with ancient frescoes and its lavish decor; too bad the romantic atmosphere is lost due to the excessive closeness of the tables. We ordered as a starter the Cuoppo Napoletano (fried pasta, arancini, fried provolone, potato croquettes, fried polenta present on the menu but replaced with coccoli) and I must say I was rather disappointed, both in terms of the quantity and quality of the specialties offered; the only one with a semblance of flavor was the crocchè with mint and lemon and moreover, I do not understand the reason for the accompanying tartar sauce. Moving on to pizzas, we chose a diavola (with spicy salami) and a gluten-free margherita with parmesan shavings; the dough, for being a Neapolitan pizzeria, is quite thin, not airy and a bit hard to cut but still turns out to be light and digestible. Regarding the toppings, I can say that the tomato sauce, their strong point according to my partner's judgment, is for me instead "the cross and delight" because it is so salty that it completely covers the faint flavor of mozzarella and salami, of which only the spiciness could be perceived at times. I was truly disappointed by the absence, among the ingredients of Neapolitan pizzas, of typical products (like Neapolitan salami or cicoli) and by the menu, lacking true Neapolitan specialties; the offered dishes represent a typical "diminished" Neapolitan cuisine that caters to the expectations and tastes of Florentines and especially tourists, as with the Fettuccine Pinocchio/Alfredo or the Carbonara/Frittata. The quality/price ratio is quite low, recommended for their gluten-free pizza; indeed, it is the first time I face a gluten-free pizza so similar to the classic one.

A somewhat chaotic place with a clear tourist vocation. The waiters do not always present the dish clearly and rush too much. I believe more attention is needed for customers with intolerances, as we had to ask twice whether what they were serving us was indeed gluten-free and lactose-free, and the answer was not immediate. However, in the end, it turned out well; what we tried was good... the pizza? Good, but not the best.

Beautiful and welcoming restaurant in the center of Florence. An excellent and very light gluten-free fried dish. I recommend it to everyone, both celiacs and non-celiacs, to visit if you are passing by!

A pizzeria that was quite a casual surprise. We were welcomed by a super friendly and welcoming girl who seated us wherever we preferred (inside, since there was space). The care in the design of the place is truly evident, and it can be felt in most of the staff who are always available and polite. We ordered two pizzas, a margherita, a diavola, a bottle of still water, and a coffee to finish, and I would say that for being just a step away from the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, €25 is more than fair. The pizza, especially the margherita, is truly among the best I've ever had, with a good crust and excellent tomato sauce and fiordilatte mozzarella. The only two minor notes (which are not really significant) are: - the absence of babà among the desserts, which I admit I missed - the style of the place: outside it looks modern, while inside it’s from the 1700s, with even some neon signs... Let’s just say that for those who appreciate variety, it’s definitely a fantastic place. Everything is nice, but a bit disjointed. However, let it be clear, I repeat, these are mere trifles; the quality is high and the price is right. I don’t have any particular dietary needs, but there is a wide choice for those with celiac disease.

A very nice and welcoming restaurant in the heart of Florence, run by a very kind family attentive to guests, with special attention to celiac disease. I am celiac and many years ago I had already been here with my family and my daughter, who is also celiac like me. We had a great time and today I returned with my parents on holiday in Florence: Ciro & Sons did not disappoint us, in fact, we were pleasantly surprised! We ordered some simple pizzas, I had a gluten-free Neapolitan, and we were all very satisfied. The gluten-free pizza was excellent! I have rarely found such quality in these 12 years of celiac disease. What can I say, congratulations to Ciro and his family for their kindness, service, and quality. I invite anyone who finds themselves in Florence to stop by Ciro for lunch or dinner, maybe gluten-free!

Bad experience overall, from the beginning terrible service, mismatched glasses, unappetizing plating, we found hair/fur in the meat and potatoes. Regarding the Fiorentina, we asked for 1.5 kg to be shared among 3 people and what we received was a plate with 7 small slices each that didn’t even come close to the expected weight (badly cut and overcooked compared to the request). The gnocchi were rubbery and excessively salty, with a sauce hardly deserving of its name. The beer was not poured correctly due to the lack of foam and the final coffee was really a disrespect to Italian tradition, plus paying €1.50 for an espresso I found to be an outrageous price. The preparation of the waiters matched that of the customers, if not worse. You may have gluten-free options, but there is nothing else beyond that.
5
Pampered from start to finish of the service, polite and friendly staff. The food? The best gluten-free pizza I've ever tasted in a restaurant or pizzeria, excellent meat dishes and generous, tasty side dishes. Abundant appetizers at the right price. Are you in Florence? I would go there for lunch and dinner if I were you👍

Highly recommended for celiacs, the whole menu is available gluten-free and the gluten-free pizza is really good, I would say the best, very attentive to customers' needs. Super kind and helpful staff, we will definitely return when we pass through Florence again. Excellent food in a magical city.

Convenient prices and excellent quality. Very well-kept and designed venue. The pizza is very good and typically Neapolitan. Great attention to food intolerances.

My boyfriend, a friend of ours, and I decided at the last minute to go out for pizza. Often, going out to eat with someone who is gluten intolerant and at risk of contamination is very difficult, especially because it's always a gamble. However, Ciro & Sons was a fantastic discovery; the staff was very nice and friendly, and they found us a spot outside even without a reservation. The regular pizza was good, but according to my boyfriend, who is celiac, the gluten-free one topped the charts. The flavor was almost identical to the classic pizza, but more importantly, it wasn't contaminated. I don't know how they do it with the dough, but I was told they have a separate oven. We only ordered pizzas, but I noticed that the menu had gluten-free options for starters, main courses, and sides as well. They are very attentive to other allergies too, as they mark on the menu what does not contain peanuts and shellfish. Finally, an excellent place to eat well, without contamination, and at great prices!! We will definitely be back!

A nice place, ideal for celiacs and non-celiacs. The pizza is really very good, and the restaurant dishes weren't bad either. The menu is very varied and the place is welcoming. Despite being a large group, the staff was very attentive and everyone was satisfied. The prices are average.

Nothing negative, just a positive experience. Looking at the menu, there is a varied choice, and they try to accommodate everyone, from those with special needs to those who just want to eat a "simple" pizza. The pizza... I think this is the place where I had the best one. For celiacs, there is a wide selection. They make almost everything gluten-free. The venue has a huge central chandelier that stands out. As soon as you enter, you find yourself in front of the pizza-making area. The staff is friendly, especially the lady who brings the desserts... she's lovely. The prices depend on what you order, of course, neither expensive nor cheap... it just depends on the person's needs. Truly a 5-star experience, and more if there were. I highly recommend it. Well done, well done, well done.

Also for celiacs. Very thin and light gluten-free pizza: excellent. I could have eaten another one, it was so thin. Too bad about the extra charge of 2.5 euros for the gluten-free pizza compared to the normal one. It's also a shame about the very little space available. We were at a table combined with another couple's, and several times he and I bumped elbows while cutting our respective pizzas!

Very well known for the gluten-free menu. So we went with my husband. Good gluten-free pizza and also the desserts. But really too expensive. Two pizzas, one gluten-free, one non-alcoholic can, one bottle of water, and a shared dessert cost 40 euros. Really too much, I've never spent so much for such an "easy" lunch. Too bad because the staff is very welcoming and professional.

Exceptional! The staff is incredibly kind and knowledgeable, and they guided me in choosing the gluten-free pizza. Having many issues, including celiac disease, they reassured me. Very kind. I was finally able to taste a delicious gluten-free pizza and enjoy a peaceful evening at the restaurant. Top-notch, highly recommended!

Great gluten-free pizza, very nice and welcoming place. The waiters are very kind and make you feel at home. Excellent lemon sorbet, it melts in your mouth. I recommend it!
5
An exceptional gluten-free pizza, the true Neapolitan finally made accessible to celiacs. The only downside of the place is that the tables are very close together and it gets quite crowded.
5
Great Neapolitan pizzeria EVEN WITHOUT GLUTEN and GREAT in taste - GLUTENFREE - in the heart of Florence. The quality is really high and you can immediately feel it from the dough, which, although Neapolitan, is light and digestible. Excellent ingredients and varieties of pizzas. Take a look at the gourmet ones, they are absolutely worth it, such as the Positano with whole burrata on top. Spectacular. Prices are a bit higher but the quality and taste are there.

I start by saying that it is the restaurant with the friendliest and most welcoming service in Florence (in my opinion). Moreover, the dishes are fantastic!!! We went as a couple three times to eat and enjoyed excellent pizzas, especially the gluten-free ones. It is truly the best for pizzas and gluten-free dishes!!! Of course, they also serve the Fiorentina (min 1.2kg) which is truly divine! I recommend sharing it between two people because it's really a lot. The side dishes are very good, I would definitely go back every day. Highly recommended and well-deserved 5 stars!!!
