What can I say... Exquisite from start to finish. 11 courses, all lovingly crafted and beautifully presented on the plate. The attention to detail and passion of the chef shines throughout, with unique flavour profiles blending the best of Japan with fine Italian cuisine. All gluten free, although you honestly wouldnt know it with reagrds to taste or texture. This isnt a place to go because you have to due to dietary requirements, this is dining at its best and should be appreciated by all. To top it off, the service and friendliness of the owners was nothing short of perfect. 10/10 and worth every penny, it was the best meal of a trip that was filled with great food across the country.

This was outstanding. I absolutely recommend to anyone in Kyoto. I am coeliac, and this attracted me as the whole menu is gluten free. We went for the set lunch and every dish was perfect, what a great chef! 100% recommend - also have GF beer!

This was the best find of our trip! Finding gluten free food in Japan has been really hard but even if I wasn’t gluten intolerant I would eat and recommend here! The service was incredible, the chef was working alone and he still provided excellent service! The food was incredible! We had no faults and found everything to be delicious! We had the croquettes, bread, carbonara and tiramisu. I couldn’t recommend this place more to everyone, not just gluten free people! Incredible! Thank you for a lovely evening!

We visited Kappa after hearing about the famous vegetable salad and it did not disappoint! This is one of the most unique and impressive salads you’ll ever try full of so many vibrant veggies I’ve never seen before. We also tried the vegetable pasta and the dessert plate which were equally delicious. The food was all so fresh and flavourful and I couldn’t believe it was all gluten free. Neither of us actually have any issues eating gluten, but if you are celiac or gluten intolerant you should definitely visit as everything was so good you couldn’t tell it was GF, even the pasta tasted like the real deal. We are vegetarian and Kappa catered well to that dietary requirement too which was wonderful so if you have any dietary restrictions this place promises a delicious and nutritious meal. If I’m ever back in Kyoto this is one restaurant I’m definitely going back to.
