Must go if celiac. There’s only a few seats inside but definitely worth the wait if you’re wanting some authentic soba that isn’t from a chain. You get complimentary nukazuke (pickles made in fermented rice bran= gf) and buckwheat tea which is delicious and nutty. Simple & delicious. Make sure you ask for gluten free broth as there is a gf and non gf option.

A MUST visit for gluten free folks in Kyoto! The food is delicious and the atmosphere and experience are wonderful. The soba was delicious but watching the chef work serving his packed (with six of us) restaurant was also a wonderful experience. He had information about gluten in English and gave me separate dipping sauce. I felt very safe and well taken care of. The tea and pickles were also gluten free. Oh and the price was extremely reasonable as well!! All in all my fav gluten free meal in Japan so far.

FANTASTIC!! We went on a really hot day and the cold soba dish was perfect. It was easy for him to accomodate gluten free needs and the gluten free sauce was separate and clearly labeled. He had an English menu too. It was fun to sit at the bar and watch the chef prepare everything. Even if there is a line it moves quickly as he prepares everything efficiently. Would go here again for sure!
