Honestly, not too bad but DEFINITELY not the best ramen, it tasted kind of bland for being their signature one. I guess it's a good option for vegans and celiacs since they don't have many places that cater to them but if you don't have these health issues/preferences I would avoid it. Definitely breaks you out of the Japanese experience too, the bar is full of other foreigners and the workers are mostly foreigners too. Guess that's a positive point if you're having trouble with the language though.

Is it possible to eat at a place Madonna ate and eat the same dish she ate? Yes. If you’re in Kyoto and go to the Moon & Back. The dish is the spicy Tandan ramen and she ate here on Jan 4, 2025. Well, the gravy was spicy and just perfect for a rainy, freezing cold Kyoto afternoon. The vegan dish came with sesame paste, bok choy, tofu skin and green onion. The Japanese have always been masters at presenting everything visually and this dish was no different. No wonder Madonna chose this dish and no surprise the restaurant suggested it too. The dish in one word is deliciously exquisite - well, not one, but two words :) The vegan and gluten free dim sum were steamed to perfection and served quickly. The restaurant is warm and cosy and the staff are very polite and welcoming. The ramen and dim sum are masterpieces for which I will come back. Thank you to the chef and service crew for an unforgettable meal.
