Already with a not-so-great experience at Sgrano in Milan, I decided to give a second chance by going directly to the osteria in Florence. A disappointment in every aspect. Fried coccoli soaked in oil to the point of oozing out with each bite, leading to a terrible nausea. When I pointed this out to the waitstaff, no action was taken. Tagliolini with wild boar ragĆ¹ were terrible, some parts overcooked and others dry. The rooster, which was more like a chick given its size, was tasteless. The only positive note: roasted potatoes. Desserts were completely skipped due to the nausea. I reported everything once I asked for feedback at the time of the bill, yet still no action was taken. Definitely will not be returning.

I would say this was fair at best. Probably our least satisfying meal, especially for the price of any restaurant that we ate during our 10 days in Italy. The cacio e pepe was was pretty watery and bland. Definitely not cheesy like you would come to expect from a good cacio e Pepe. The pasta was fine. My son had the La bracioloa ārifatta alla fiorentinaā but he also said it was pretty flavorless. We started with a salami and cheese appetizer, which was pretty good. That was really the only thing that saved the meal. Large felt ignored by the wait staff. Took us about 15 minutes to get even someone to offer us drinks or water they couldnāt get anyoneās attention. For the price, we definitely wouldāve gone someplace else.

Bread was amazing. Spaghetti pomodoro was excellent! Ravioli and gnocchi were mid to low (felt greasy and not the best texture). 2nd course - chicken and beef stew were meh. Service was so-so. (Never got our second order of wine, but was on our bill. Had to wait 20 mins between 1st and 2nd courses and asked waiter about our food to get it. Maybe itās too high expectations, but if we are doing multiple courses there should be a good rhythm to getting food or at least bring the second round of drinks in between. Staff were friendly, just slow and inattentive.) Nice place for a group with a person with celiac because itās totally safe. Some of the breast GF bread Iāve had. Just donāt expect to be blown away with all the courses. Certainly some gems in the menu.

Wow. Just amazing. The entire menu is gluten free, but you really can't tell as all dishes we had were just amazing, so this won't feel strange for the non-gluten person in the party. Everything had lots of texture and lots of flavor. The green "Tortellaccio" was so yummy. Highly recommendable. Will definitely be back here again.

The food here is incredible. We ate here twice during our stay. The Tagliatella with Wild Boar ragout, Tagliatella with Porcini Mushrooms, Gnocchi, crossings and desserts were incredible! Also start with a Limoncello Spritz. My wife is gf and Im not. I couldn't tell the difference. The staff are very friendly and helpful too!! Try their other restaurants, Sgrano for a really good sandwich as well.

What can I say, you're in Florence on a trip and looking for a place to have dinner. The small restaurant attracts you because from the outside it looks appealing, I read the menu and quickly glance at a few reviews and boom, I'm convinced. I tried a beef tartare with avocado and seasonal vegetables and it was DELICIOUS, all accompanied by a gin and tonic (great pairing in my opinion). The service is discreet and efficient, the price is reasonable considering you're in Florence, behind the magnificent Piazza Santa Croce. All in all, highly recommended!

I had already tried the amazing gluten-free schiacciata a few months ago at the location just steps from the osteria, and having been very impressed, I wanted to try the restaurant format: everything was delicious, really! It's a godsend for both celiacs and those who are gluten intolerant like me due to other intestinal disorders. My friend and I ordered two platters, one with coccoli and vegetables and the other vegetarian for two people, and they were plentiful; they filled us up a lot. I will definitely return! Also, the staff was very kind.

I would have given 5 stars regardless for a completely gluten-free placeš„¹ The photos are taken months apart because I have been coming here for a while and I have always had a good experience. The pasta is always good, but what makes it special and why I keep coming back to Sgano is undoubtedly being able to sit down and order anything from the menu without worrying about allergens. I had wanted to go there for a long time and I left a bit disappointed. Distracted and unresponsive service: we asked for bread with the appetizers and it never arrived, just like the complete lack of reaction when we said that the tagliolini were overcooked. They were so overcooked that they formed a sort of omelet that could be cut with a fork. Inedible. Even the pasta packages were overcooked. Only the pici were good. No apology from the chef, no amaro offered, not even a euro taken off the bill... in short, this isn't how you treat customers. The dinner ended with a cold cheesecake that wasn't a cheesecake and a schiacciata alla fiorentina that looked like a Kinder Paradise. It's a shame because the ingredients are good but itās not enough to hide behind being the only ones who make gluten-free fresh pasta. You also need to know how to cook the pasta to justify charging 16ā¬, and provide adequate service if you want to charge 45ā¬ per person. I will return to give it a second chance, but please pay more attention to customers. I give three stars only for the coccoli and the pici. And on trust.

On a sunny February Sunday, after a great aperitif at the Via F. Neri location featuring Florentine schiacciate, we opted for two typical Florentine first courses, in a gluten-free version. Among the wide selection of homemade pasta, entirely gluten-free, we chose pici alla chiantigiana and tagliatelle with wild boar ragĆ¹. It was an excellent culinary experience, where traditional dishes were presented in gluten-free attire, with no difference in taste or flavor. I highly recommend it to those with intolerances and beyond.

A venue entirely designed to offer typical Tuscan cuisine without gluten. The dishes range from classic Tuscan crostini to pici and lampredotto. My wife and I shared coccoli with vegetables and stracciatella as an appetizer. At our request, we wanted to make a modification substituting the stracciatella with its lactose-free variant (available and already listed on the menu). Subsequently, upon the waiterās recommendation, we had pici strascicati 'alla chiantigiana' and tortelli mugellani with Tuscan ragĆ¹. The portions were very generous, and the quality-price ratio was very good. To accompany, a bottle of water, a glass of wine, and a coffee to close. Highly recommended place, I will definitely return the next time I am in Florence.

The paccheri with sea bream sauce, artichokes, and olives were drowning in oil. Meanwhile, the ravioli, which had a delicious filling, were loaded with butter and the bottarga was not of good quality. Everything is gluten-free. Friendly and helpful staff. I don't know if I would go back and give it another chance.

We booked at āOsteria dello Sgranoā intrigued by the excellent reviews, given our gluten (and lactose) intolerance. The place is intimate, cute, and well-furnished, definitely a good start! The service was very kind and efficient. They specialize in first courses that are truly worth tasting, all made with fresh homemade pasta and excellent toppings. To start, we chose to share a platter of zucchini with coccoli and stracciatella (for which we requested the lactose-free option, at an extra cost). The coccoli were amazing, they definitely don't resemble the classic gluten-free foods found around. We then opted for the pici with lampredotto white ragĆ¹ (on the menu as pici alla fiorentina), which I highly recommend to anyone who enjoys these offal; it was very delicate and flavorful, we liked it a lot! To finish, a mascarpone cream (lactose-free) on a crumble of cantucci... this was also prepared very well and very tasty! We left satisfied and happy after a high-level gluten-free and lactose-free dinner. Congratulations! Fair prices, in line with the quality. I will definitely return to try the other special first courses.

A paradise for celiacs and more... A very nice environment located in one of the streets of the summer nightlife in Florence. The quality of the products and raw materials guarantees an explosion of unique flavor with every bite. Lorenzo, a young but passionate waiter, served us, guiding us in the choice of dishes (all spot on) and explaining selected ingredients with great professionalism while suggesting pairings with selected cocktails or wines when appropriate. Pici alla chiantigiana needs reworking: the pasta and its cooking were good, but the sauce based on ragĆ¹ had the ingredients completely disconnected and contained excessive pepper that overshadowed all the other flavors. Everything was really delicious! For an appetizer, we had coccoli with pecorino cream and truffle shavings; we were three but it would have been enough for four. The coccoli were soft and perfectly salty. The best I've ever tasted. Then I ordered pappa al pomodoro with burrata, a truly generous portion that I finished with pleasure. I drank a very good Moscow Mule. Quick service. I recommend it!
