La Capriata is a charming and AIC-certified venue that offers a wide selection of gluten-free dishes from the Emilian tradition. The staff is very attentive and the quality of the food is high, making the experience highly recommended.
Show how you handle gluten free and let coeliacs know they can trust you

Gluten-free menu exactly the same as the normal one. Amazing food! Excellent fresh pasta!!! Quiet place with well-prepared and friendly staff!!! I can't wait to go back to try all the other typical dishes!!!
5
Location in the historic center of Bologna! All the dishes are excellent! Service and courtesy are outstanding! I am a regular visitor and have never been disappointed!
5
everything very good. same menu gluten/gluten-free. recommended.
5
delicious food, a wide gluten-free menu, and very attentive staff. fair price... highly recommended
5
very attentive staff and a menu dedicated to gluten-free options, they also have lactose-free choices. really commendable. the bread was excellent.
5
They offered every single pasta on the menu (including the stuffed pastas) as gluten free! It was so good I got two pastas. The sauces were fresh and flavorful. I would highly recommend for celiac and non-celiacs. Their rating should be higher.
5
Extremely attentive staff, delicious food, and a wide selection of fresh pasta made by them. Even the bread basket at the table, a place where there are no differences for those with celiac disease! đ
5
Up to this point in my life i have truly never been as satisfied as i was while eating the veal cutlet. No words, just divine⊠Also I came here with my wife and her sister who are celiac and their meals were also transcendent. It must happen all the time but we probably all looked ran over while eating our meals. No words were spoken just silence in a beautiful court yard away from busy tourists and loud cars. Highly recommend for everyone gluten free!!!
5
Greatest gluten free meal Iâve ever had. The LASAGNE was unbelievable! As was the tagliatelle ragu (gf) and veal cutlet (non-gf). The staff were also exceptionally kind and attentive! Cannot recommend enoughđ«¶
5
It's 5 stars just because I can't give more, bravi bravi bravi! The food is simply delicious and the staff's service is impeccable. Waiters, waitresses, managers bartenders, cooks are all very young, kind, and professional. You can't tell the difference between gluten free and normal dishes and they are very through in making sure that there is no cross contamination. The strawberry tiramisĂș was THE BEST tiramisu I have eaten in my whole life đ Grazie davvero ragazzi!!
4
Excellent pasta, as a gluten eater the gluten free Tagliatelle Ragu and Mushroom Tortellini was the best pasta I had on my trip. Highly recommend both. Gluten free and regular bread available for the table. Disappointed the gluten free calamari wasnât available when we visited. The place was also empty at around 18:30 on a weekday. Would recommend.
5
Incredible place. A whole menu of typical Bolognese cuisine, all gluten-free and really tasty. The prices are also very reasonable. The only drawback is the service a bit slow (but, in their defense, the place was full).
5
entire gluten-free menu with great attention to contamination
5
A truly fantastic experience! The restaurant has a cozy and curated atmosphere, perfect for both a romantic dinner and a night out with friends. The staff was very kind and always available, making us feel comfortable right away. Iâm celiac and the dishes were delicious, made with fresh ingredients and beautifully presented. Each course was a pleasant surprise, full of flavor and quality. Great value for money as well.
5
Excellent typical dishes with and without gluten
5
A very nice traditional locale in the heart of Bologna, just a few steps from the Two Towers, certified Aic. Everything from the kitchen to the service was impeccable! Both my husband and I are gluten intolerant, and this place was a discovery! Fried gnocco and tortellini were delicious, fresh bread, and all the desserts are strictly gluten-free. Absolutely recommended!
5
Very nice place aesthetically. Possibility to choose anything from the gluten-free menu! I was thrilled to be able to eat handmade gluten-free pasta, and it was excellent: both the tortellini and the lasagna! The fried gnocchi were exceptional as well. Highly recommended!
5
I am celiac and when I entered, it felt like a dream. We have been to this place for the second time; it has become a must-visit when we are in Bologna. Sublime dishes, tortellini, homemade tortellini even gluten-free... a plate of pasta is full of flavor and abundant, but you want to keep eating because they are so good. I highly recommend trying the stuffed pasta, although in my heart there is a special place for tagliatelle alla bolognese. Compliments to all the staff, who are friendly and helpful, always ready to recommend the best dishes and ideal combinations to try as many things as possible.
5
Elegant restaurant in one of the most beautiful squares in Bologna, yet accessible for tourists like us. Kindness, availability, friendliness, and attention to those with intolerance issues are certainly the restaurant's strong points. Excellent food, a place to enjoy the dishes of Bolognese tradition, which are among the most exquisite. Great crescentines, delicious lasagna, tortellini packed with ragĂč, and a delightful tender cake. The double menu for celiacs and for those without issues makes this restaurant the ideal choice for those traveling in company. Excellent experience!!
5
Simple place in Corte Isolani, typical dishes that I think are good. I had some really tasty pumpkin-filled tortelli. Excellent desserts, prices are average and fair.
5
Typical Bolognese menu with truly exquisite food. Very attentive staff to contamination issues.

We had high expectations, but we were a bit disappointed. We ended up on a night when there was a lack of staff (once we were told there was a shortage in the dining area and another time in the kitchen). We booked for 8:00 PM but only ordered at 8:40 PM since there was only one person taking orders (plus, one table ordered before us because not everyone is polite enough to wait their turn and they also took advantage of the confusion of the staff). After the wait, we were also disappointed with the dishes; compared to other restaurants, they didn't serve fried dumplings with the cold cuts appetizer, which had to be purchased separately, six pieces for 8 euros (the quantity is not specified, but it seems a bit much, though it was good and not greasy). Then we had a lasagna (I expected more) and tagliatelle with ragĂč (the ragĂč was good). That said, the price-to-quality ratio for us was excessive (64 euros for a small cutting board, two first courses, and a bottle of water). It's a shame because we had high hopes and were a bit let down; I recommend it mainly for its central location. However, despite the challenging situation, the staff was always kind.
5
Locale AIC, handmade appetizers. Surely a regular stop of mine when I have guests, even those who are not celiac, who always appreciate it a lot.
5
a space dedicated to my family dinners. thereâs a possibility to eat everything, in a family atmosphere. they are certified, so you can relax and enjoy a good first course.
5
If you are looking for a place where tradition meets passion, this restaurant is a true gem! The handmade fresh pasta is simply extraordinary: each dish tells the love for cooking and the care for the raw materials. Even the gluten-free option is truly delicious. The menu offers a variety that satisfies all palates, with special attention to dietary needs. It is rare to find gluten-free cuisine so good that you don't miss traditional pasta! The service is attentive, friendly, and always smiling: you really feel pampered. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, ideal for both a romantic dinner and a night out with friends. In short: an experience to be repeated absolutely. If you love fresh pasta (with or without gluten), here you will find a taste paradise! đâš
5
They have the entire menu gluten-free, with fresh pasta made strictly by them. The staff pays maximum attention to celiac disease and are available to advise in case of further needs. I recommend it.
5
La Capriata confirms itself as the top for traditional gluten-free Bolognese cuisine. I had lunch here and... wow: a typical gluten-free menu with fresh pasta (tortellini, tagliatelle, lasagna) and even crescentine that were spectacular. The quality is impeccable, every dish is tasty. The ambience is elegant yet familiar, both inside and in the outdoor courtyard. The staff is very kind and attentive to gluten-free needs. A small note: the service can be a bit slow at times and the prices are medium-high, but understandable given the level of the food and overall experience. The location is excellent, right in the heart of Bologna.
5
excellent quality for gluten-free and reasonable prices considering the typically expensive area
5
menu of traditional Bologna, very good. I had a great experience, they welcomed me very well, staff was very attentive and well-prepared for celiacs.
5
complete gluten-free menu I had the tortellini with ragĂč, very good friendly and informed staff highly recommended
5
First time in Bologna for me and my best friend, we managed to find a restaurant that made our day even more special. My friend is celiac and, as we all know, itâs not easy to find restaurants that offer gluten-free dishes, especially when it comes to stuffed pasta. But fortunately, we discovered this place, where she was finally able to enjoy the legendary tortellini in broth. I must say they were delicious, and I would have never thought they were gluten-free, they were that good!!! In fact, I also chose a completely gluten-free menu so I could taste two different first courses with her, and it was a winning choice! The dishes arrived in record time, and we were impressed by the speed and courtesy of the staff, who were always attentive and professional. The atmosphere was pleasant, we ate outside, in what seemed like a peaceful little courtyard in the middle of the city, with clean service that made the experience even more enjoyable. Moreover, we were surprised that we didnât spend much, which made lunch even more satisfying!!!!
4
â A beautiful experience. I really appreciated that they serve fresh pasta rolled by hand; the entrance overlooks the area where the pasta is rolled. đȘ The location is very well cared for, besides the main room there are two outdoor areas (one at the entrance and one in the courtyard) and a basement that can accommodate a large group. đœ Moreover, the place specializes in gluten-free options. Coming to eat here turned out to be a good choice.
5
Spectacular experience in the heart of Bologna. All dishes are also available in a gluten-free version (handmade pasta) so good that you won't notice the difference. Spectacular flavors, typical of Emilian cuisine. Highly recommended for both gluten-free individuals and those who are not.
5
welcoming and kind staff...they welcomed us very well, food super super good...highly recommended
5
GLUTEN-FREE! Handmade gluten-free tortellini! Every gluten-free fresh pasta is made by hand directly by the restaurant staff. The AIC certified location is situated in a courtyard. The staff is super welcoming and friendly; you can really see the effort they put into every dish. I am celiac and can assure you a delicious typical Bolognese meal! I have eaten here twice (dinner and lunch) and everything was wonderful. The tortellini with ragĂč and in broth are fantastic! Highly recommended!
5
Friendly and nice staff, as soon as I arrived they immediately asked if I needed the gluten-free menu, which offers a wide variety of typical dishes. The appetizer (with gluten-free bread) and the first courses are very good.
5
Amazing crispy breads and crescentine, certified location with gluten-free options prepared with great care. Kind and helpful staff. Strategic location in the city center.
4
The gluten-free menu is very varied; I tried both the tagliatelle and the stuffed pasta. I highly recommend it if you are in the city center.
5
Great service and also the food. Upon arrival, they ask if a gluten-free menu is needed! The dishes are marked to differentiate from those containing gluten. I recommend it!
5
We had lunch there in the covered outdoor area. The environment is very serene and quiet. The staff is very kind and courteous. We ate really well without spending too much. In fact, the prices are really honest, especially considering the context. Furthermore, this place is certified for gluten-free food preparation. Highly recommended.
5
For the second time, I decided to eat at this place in the center of Bologna. The food is always excellent; we had a mixed appetizer, lasagna (really great!!!), and a dessert tasting (I highly recommend the chocolate cake and the mascarpone cream). Everything was really delicious, highly recommended! Of course, they are very well equipped for gluten-free needs. Prices are a bit high, but in line with the quality of the food.
5
Entering "La Capriata", one is immediately struck by the welcoming and warm atmosphere. The staff, always smiling, makes every customer feel at home. Attention to detail and the courtesy of the personnel contribute to creating a pleasant and relaxing dining experience. The establishment perfectly balances Bolognese tradition with a touch of innovation. The dishes offered are rooted in the local culinary culture but are creatively revisited, thus providing a new interpretation of classic flavors. A particularly appreciated aspect, especially by me, is their attention towards those with special dietary needs like mine. The selection of gluten-free dishes is meticulously curated, with a dedicated and refined menu that in no way compromises taste and quality. Celiacs can thus enjoy a complete culinary experience without sacrifices.
5
We ate at this really good restaurant! Elegant, quiet, and affordable! They also have a gluten-free menu, and it was an immense joy for me, being celiac, to be able to eat anything! We recommend the gluten-free fried gnocco. The tortelloni filled with mortadella and porcini mushrooms! (gluten-free) The traditional Bolognese lasagna. Traditional tortellini with Bolognese ragĂč! To conclude, a good selection of desserts, completely gluten-free!
5
I had lunch in this really nice restaurant. We chose all gluten-free dishes. The crescentine with cold cuts were spectacular. For the first course, we had delicious handmade meat tortellini and equally good ricotta and mortadella tortelloni. Recommended!
4
Everything is absolutely certified and with wide gluten-free options. A bit expensive; typical food from the Bolognese cuisine with good quality but not excellent. Great, however, from a safety standpoint.
4
it's a pity it's so expensive, because everything else is impeccable.
5
Excellent in everything, from the pasta to the safety
5
Excellent Bolognese food, perfect if you are looking for traditional cuisine. They are very attentive to contamination, you eat well; I highly recommend it.
5
Typical Bolognese cuisine, all gluten-free. Excellent quality, attentive and helpful staff. Certified venue. I recommend trying the basket of crescentine. Price is appropriate for the location and setting (not low).
5
Spectacular food, quality products that don't seem gluten-free at all (according to my friends who are not gluten intolerant after tasting the gluten-free gnocco fritto). The service is a bit slow, but the staff is very friendly and helpful. It's beautiful to see how gluten-free tortellini are made.
5
excellent food, the best restaurant in Bologna for gluten-free, I always go back when I'm in the area
5
Very nice place right in the center. Normal and excellent gluten-free typical Bolognese dishes. Prices are high, but itâs worth it.
5
A restaurant to try. Gluten-free tortellini are delicious... the crescentine are good too.
5
everything was delicious! from the appetizers to the first courses to the desserts! the price was fair for what we ate.
4
Really beautiful and well-organized place! A bit difficult to reach because it is located at the end of a gallery and is not noticeable from the street. As soon as you enter, you find a lady making tortellini by hand and other types of pasta. The staff is very kind and super attentive to gluten-free needs!! We had a platter of cured meats with squaquerone and gnocco fritto, slightly expensive, and two first courses, but everything was exceptional! Highly recommended!
5
Delicious food, fantastic attention to gluten-free options, highly recommended the fried gnocco. The waiters are courteous and helpful.
5
Nice place, you eat very well, prepared and friendly staff
5
The best restaurant in all of Bologna! Suitable for celiacs and non-celiacs, and the best part is that those who are celiac for the first time do not feel discriminated against: the menu is completely identical to the one with gluten, and all types of pasta are homemade and truly, truly delicious. A typical restaurant with the Bolognese lasagna and the best tortellini in Bologna! Itâs not the cheapest... but itâs worth every penny! Highly recommended. Ps: the photos in my review are all of gluten-free dishes, identical to those eaten by our friends with gluten.
5
It is located inside a courtyard, where there are other premises. In addition to excellent gluten-free fresh pasta, gluten-free desserts, gluten-free pizza, there is the possibility to buy gluten-free fresh pasta. Loving staff, delicious dishes, I had the chance to try everything. I hope you will open in Milan sooner or later đ until then I will return to Bologna every time I can!
1
Excellent food, beautifully eaten. Homemade gluten-free pasta was fabulous. I can't say the same about the service: we spent 2 hours at the restaurant just to have a first course. After ordering (which was difficult because no waiter approached us), the first course arrived very quickly. Once we finished the first, the plate stayed on the table for a good half hour, we asked for the dessert menu three times without getting anything, and when we finally ordered, the waitress even seemed annoyed by the request. Paying the bill was nothing short of impossible: the room was crowded with people waiting for a RESERVED table for half an hour, the waiters didn't know the table number, and they charged us 120 euros instead of the 50 we were supposed to pay. Too many tables and too little staff, stressed and very disorganized. For the food, I would return, but for the service, I don't think they'll see me again.
5
typical Emilia menu, all dishes are also available gluten-free. I had excellent gluten-free tagliatelle with ragĂč. all the pasta is handmade. very nice place.
4
Very convenient location for a visit in the city center. Very rich GF menu with almost all dishes overlapping with the regular menu. Care in service. Fair price. Welcoming staff.
4
Wide selection on the gluten-free menu, very good food, attentive service, GF dish marked with a drop of balsamic vinegar to avoid confusion.
3
Good gluten-free food, the crescentine less so. There is the possibility to share a dinner even with those who are not celiac and do not want to eat gluten-free. Prices a bit high compared to the quality.
3
Certified AIC locale. They have a visible station dedicated to making gluten-free handmade pasta. The location is very picturesque. Wide selection of gluten-free dishes, although I expected more in terms of quality. The crescentine were very greasy and inconsistent, while the tagliatelle with ragĂč were good, but not exceptional.
5
I had some excellent tortelloni, very good prices for being on one of the most beautiful streets in the city. Super attentive to everything!
5
Senseless green lasagna, very good! Superlative cutlet! Great gluten-free menu with plenty of choices. Upon entering, we were welcomed by a lady who was preparing tortellini in front of us, a spectacle! Highly recommended!!!
4
AIC certified location. The food is very good and the staff is very attentive. I will return.
5
Dishes from the typical Emilian cuisine are truly delicious, with friendly and kind staff, situated within a really beautiful historical courtyard. The gluten-free cuisine is also excellent, offering the same dishes as the traditional menu, which is not to be taken for granted when you have young celiacs who want to eat like the other diners. They reach the top with the sfoglina who makes fresh pasta in sight!
5
Had lunch for two with entirely gluten-free dishes: kindness and courtesy accompanied some delicious courses. The tortellini, both in zabaglione sauce and classic in capon broth, were extraordinary. The stuffed balanzoni (in photo) followed by unforgettable chestnut tagliatelle with crispy guanciale and cheese from the underground. And to conclude beautifully, the 'poker' of desserts. Highly recommended for anyone looking for top-notch cuisine.
4
Very good pumpkin tortelli. Wide choice of gluten-free dishes. Friendly staff, but wait times are a bit long.
5
It is located in the heart of the city, just a few meters from the most picturesque places. It is a classy venue, with excellent service distinguished by kindness, availability, and efficiency. It offers excellent typical Bolognese cuisine, also made precious with exquisite gourmet variations. The quality of the dishes is definitely high, and the presentation is careful and elegant. The gluten-free pasta is homemade, and the tortellini, lasagna, and tagliatelle are literally exquisite. Do not miss the opportunity to taste the excellent gnocco fritto. The main courses are also delicious and beautifully presented. Among the desserts, the warm chocolate cake is unforgettable. Additionally, there's a particularly unique aspect for those who are gluten intolerant. Everything offered on the menu can be selected in a gluten-free version without compromising the beauty and quality of the cuisine. This is the apotheosis that led me to choose La Capriata for all three of my evenings spent in Bologna with my daughter from Wednesday to Friday last week. Finally, the price paid for such an experience, which I highly recommend, is absolutely honest and commensurate with the offer. I will return soon.

I went to this place because I was looking for a suitable restaurant for my celiac disease; the waitress was nice, but for the rest, I can't say I was very satisfied: the service was disarmingly slow and distracted, it took an hour and a quarter to get the appetizer without any bread or something to nibble on in the meantime; also, they charge 2.5 for cover per person while they never provide breadsticks or bread, neither regular nor GF. Moreover, they also got the dish wrong twice, the first time sending me the order from the table next to me, and the second time offering me something I didnât ask for. Luckily, I wasn't sick, but I feared they were equally distracted in the kitchen; that went well. They are surely very uncoordinated in the kitchen with GF, because a couple that arrived 45 minutes after me and my friend ate right away and even finished before all the other tables with GF orders were served.
5
Paradise spot for those like me who seek Emilia-Romagna tradition even without gluten. It is a restaurant where courtesy and hospitality reign; you feel right at home, thanks to the waiters who are always very helpful. There is space both inside and outside, making it comfortable both in summer and winter.
5
Gluten-free and non. Typical Bolognese. We really ate well, right in the center. Our foreign friends were satisfied. I would definitely go back.
2
Exorbitant prices for a poorly thawed lasagna.
5
Very nice place, you eat really well, the gluten-free options are excellent.
5
The food is very good and the place is very welcoming. During the nice season, there is a beautiful garden for outdoor dining. A very special characteristic of Chef Alessandro is his ability to prepare traditional Bolognese dishes for celiacs that have nothing less in terms of taste and appeal than the original ones. Highly recommended.
2
Two stars just because in the end I managed to eat something. Be careful before consuming your dish if you ordered gluten-free: check that there's a "drop of balsamic vinegar" on the plate, as indicated on the menu, used to distinguish the dish from other gluten-containing dishes. The girl at the table next to me was given the gluten dish, without the drop... I warned her that she couldn't eat that plate because I had heard her order it. Reading other reviews, it seems similar things have already happened. Unfortunately, I wasn't lucky with the waiter who took my order (gluten-free, nothing else...): he was clearly irritated by my questions to understand if I could eat that item from the menu or not. Very small portions (perhaps for a child), exaggerated price. Tables crammed one next to another, so little privacy... I do not recommend the room on the lower floor, without windows, thus more or less dark: at the back, there are the restrooms separated by a sort of curtain, and the smell is what it is.
5
Excellent value for money, in a truly stunning location! Possibility of an entire gluten-free menu, all made from sheets. Quality and search for always fresh ingredients, never neglecting Bolognese tradition. From the starters to dessert, you will find only excellent dishes!
4
Welcoming atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff. Medium/high prices. Availability of gluten-free dishes. No price difference between gluten-free and regular. Wine available only by the glass or in bottles. Lasagna is up to standard and "hearty/satisfying."
4
I had lunch with my family on a Sunday. They seated us in the inner garden where we enjoyed a pleasant tranquility, as that day the entire venue was occupied by a noisy but friendly company of bersaglieri. The service was fairly precise, with a few small hesitations regarding gluten-free meals. Prices were medium-high but the quality of the traditional dishes was elevated: lasagna, tortellini (excellent even the gluten-free ones), broth, and also fried gnocco or crescentine, however you want to call it. Overall, it was a more than positive experience; perhaps the prices could be a bit lower, but being in the heart of Bologna, it can be justified.
5
Great cuisine both traditional and for celiacs. Handmade pasta, a classic in Bologna. Very welcoming restaurant, including the very nice staff. The bill is slightly above average but I gladly paid it for the excellent cuisine and very professional environment.
5
Excellent cuisine, wide selection, and qualified staff. Good choice for celiacs as well. Well-maintained venue.
5
Excellent place for celiacs and non-celiacs. Yesterday I had dinner with my family (all celiac except for me). SANDRA made us feel at home. Finally, the girls tried the fried gnocco (gluten-free) while I had it with gluten. Of course, there were homemade gluten-free tagliatelle, and she offered me a truly excellent carbonara. One thing: WELL DONE.
4
Nice ambiance, exceptional dishes, and kind staff. The dishes for celiacs are really excellent. Four stars for two aspects: 1) prices a bit too high 2) the special menu (16⏠for lunch and 19⏠for dinner) is not available for celiacs.
