I went to this restaurant last night to celebrate a birthday. I had been there several times in the past and had always eaten very well, which is why I was calm this time too. As a celiac, it had been communicated in advance that I would need gluten-free food. The appetizer was perfect and really good. Due to a misunderstanding, I couldn’t eat the first courses, but the owner, very kind, immediately apologized and prepared a sliced steak for me, which was also very good. No issues regarding the quality of the food and the responsiveness of the owner. The downside relates to one waitress in particular: besides responding rudely and disinterestedly when we pointed out the problem, she had a very unprofessional and definitely unempathetic attitude. Working in customer service myself, I know that difficult days can happen, but responding in a condescending manner is unacceptable. Furthermore, when it came to desserts, I was pointed out two desserts as gluten-free that actually contained gluten (again by the same waitress), and unfortunately, I ended up eating a gluten dessert. Mistakes can happen, we are all human, but what makes a difference is how they are managed. In this case, there was a lack of attention and respect towards the customer. I regret leaving a negative review because I have always had positive experiences here, but I hope it can serve as a cue for improvement, especially regarding the service and attention towards those with important dietary needs.
